Katakirr is insanely popular among Punekars and more importantly it has lived up to its reputation of Best Misal in Pune. Now if you want to have the privilege of eating here, it’s not going to be easy. One needs demonstrate his commitment and strong will to eat by patiently waiting for hours. Katakirr is always busy, just look at the huge crowd waiting outside the outlet. Probably the only place which would have pulled masses as much as an ATM  during the demonetization period. But the good news is queue management here is pretty cool. You can register your name, know the estimated time and come back accordingly.

The place in itself is quite neat and tidy. Katakirr doesn’t have a menu card as such, so no jazz around what to order. Simply go for the best Misal in Pune. Comes in two varieties the regular one is moderate on spice meter. The ‘Tez’ is fiery hot and not for the light-hearted. Their Misal an extraordinary concoction of finely cooked sprouts, potatoes, Sev and lots of crunchy ingredients topped with ‘Cut’. ‘Cut’ is technically a spicy red layer of oil but practically the heart and soul of Misal. Tear a bite of fresh and soft Pav and liberally dip into the tangy, hot ‘Cut’ and slurp the goodness. Repeat this ritual for a dozen times or so. Wind up the treat with a delightful buttermilk. The buttermilk at the end of a hot and spicy trip, feels like a cool breeze on a sunny day.

Katakirr justifies its name as a truly legendary eatery and one of the best places to eat Misal in Pune.
