Khandesh basically stands for northern region of Maharashtra, which in turn hosts for a great cuisine in itself. Khandeshi cuisine is mostly rustic and earthly in nature and fiery hot. Can even call it one of the spiciest cuisine in the world. Too much of info?
So…
In Pune, many of them coming from Khandesh region have settled down in Sangavi and surrounding area. So here you can expect authentic khandeshi food for sure. One of them is Khandeshi darbar. Menu clearly differentiates between khandeshi specialities and the routine food. So keep left when you are walking through the menu.
For a vegan, Shev Bhaji is must try. A quick win with gram flour sticks submerged in deep red gravy. This can be made in two ways, one where the sev is added later while serving so it remains crisp and the other one with shev cooked along which is much softer and different jn taste. They serve the second version. The flavour was extremely desi, Thanks to Kala Masala which is married to Khandeshi food. Side dish of course is Thecha. Not that spicy like everywhere else, so anyone can take a chance. Gulp it down with their amazing Bhakri, round thick bread made of Bajra. Its very soft, served hot and you will feel the warmth of it.
And the whole combo doesn’t cost much so as said earlier you can keep left on Menu card and order your heart out…(without looking at rightside price column)
