When in Chennai if you are looking for authentic breakfast options in the city, Murugan Idli Shop could be the place. And they are very keen and passionate about it. So every time you go, be assured to relish one of the best South Indian eating experiences.

The emphasis is on to provide authentic South Indian food in a traditional way with a contemporary ambience. Idlis here are the whitest I have ever seen. Thanks to Chettinadi preparation style which is not adulterated in past two decades. Unlike all the other places in the world, Idlis and Vadas here come with variety of chutneys apart from the regular coconut one. They have chilli garlic, tomatoes and gunpowder as well. And its vast spread on the lush green banana leaf with the whitest Idlis on one side is indeed picturesque. You can also indulge into Pongal and specially made Onion Utthappam.

Being in Chennai you might succumb to temptation of having a filter coffee but dodge it for a while and get your hands on their famous Jigarthanda – A cold drink made of milk with ice cream on the top. A must in hot and humid climate of Chennai.
