Pauaa, poya, pohe, avalakki whatever you call it, is close to heart of many. Because many of us have been starting our good, bad days with it since time unknown.
There are slight variations in the preparation with region, with its Indori version being the most famous one. Even many believe Indore and around being the place where poha originated.
Indore foods is one such place in Pune which attempts to simulate this version of
poha..which is soft in texture, pale yellow in appearance and on the sweeter side in taste. It is topped with crisp and crunchy namkeen, finely chopped onion, corriander and a slice of lemon. But hold on… this is not it. The hot and spicy masala simply outshines. Add more of it and raise the spicemeter.
Kachoris, mashed potatoes wrapped in wheat flour with mild spices and deep fried in chunks are served with green chlily chutney which is hot like hell…
Other favourites here are usal kachori, usal poha, lassi, shahi gajak but my favourite is this light on pocket menu. 😛
So if you wish to start a day on positive note (and early morning) this is the place…
